The housing crisis has distressed many homeowners, real estate developers, and landlords throughout the country. Aside from single-family, privately owned homes, multi-family dwellings have seen a hard hit as well.
To bring some guidance to this issue, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sponsors housing counseling agencies nationwide that can offer advice on purchasing a home, renting, defaults, foreclosures, financing home repairs and credit issues.
Though HUD has launched various programs to help homeowners who have defaulted on their mortgages, help for landlords is harder to obtain. That’s why HUD put up housing counseling agencies to offer guidance and support to land and property owners.
